Tending the Land for Fire Resilience: An Interactive In-Person Workshop

What does it look like to care for the land in ways that support fire resilience? Join Resilient Landscape Coalition and Safer West County for a FREE, hands-on, place-based workshop exploring how thoughtful land stewardship can help communities live more safely with wildfire.

We’ll begin indoors to be introduced to Tending the Land for Fire Resilience in Sonoma County–an online guide with resources to help landowners and community members make informed decisions about caring for their landscapes.

Then we will head outdoors at the Hampton Fire Road project site above Camp Meeker, where we’ll walk the landscape, learn from the work that has been done, and explore practical approaches to tending wildland in fire-prone areas.

There will be plenty of time for questions, discussion, and connecting what we see in the field with tools you can use on your own land.

What You’ll Learn

How land stewardship practices can contribute to fire resilience
What we can learn from the Hampton Fire Road project
How to use the Tending the Land online guide to navigate land stewardship decisions
Practical considerations for caring for wildland in West Sonoma County
