Celebrate Conservation at the Laguna Environmental Center during the Eco-Friendly Garden Tour
Join us and Ag + Open Space at the Laguna Environmental Center (LEC) during the Eco-Friendly Garden Tour, a county-wide celebration of water-wise, sustainable landscapes. Explore our native plant demonstration gardens, where low-water landscaping supports pollinators, wildlife, and healthy ecosystems while providing ideas for your own garden.
Enjoy self-guided strolls through the gardens, guided garden walks at 11:00am and 1:00pm; also offered in Spanish. Check out the latest art exhibit in Heron Hall featuring works by Megan Gnekow, family-friendly activities like nature crafts and a plant/wildlife scavenger hunt, and nature-inspired gifts in our shop. Visitors can also meet local conservation experts and partner organizations, including the California Native Plant Society, Santa Rosa Plain Groundwater Sustainability Agency, UC Master Gardeners, and others.
The LEC is protected by a conservation easement, a legal agreement that limits development and ensures the property will continue to preserve its natural and educational values for the community and wildlife. There is no charge for this event, made possible by the taxpayers of Sonoma County through a quarter-cent sales tax funding Ag + Open Space.
Our garden will close at 2:00pm, though the Eco-Friendly Garden Tour continues county-wide until 4:00pm. We encourage visitors to arrive early. Pre-registration is required for the Eco-Friendly Garden Tour: https://savingwaterpartnership.org/eco-friendly-garden-tour/
