In 2018 LandPaths is increasing its stewardship presence at the Grove of the Old Trees with new monthly stewardship workdays, lending an extra hand to ensure that this unique wild space continues to be a healthy and flourishing habitat for our native plants and animals, as well as a place for our human community to gather and find solace in the majesty of the redwood forest.

Protected by an Ag + Open Space conservation easement, this beautiful preserve was the first property stewarded and owned by LandPaths and is the only privately-owned wildland preserve in Sonoma County that is publicly accessible and free to all. Your work to steward the Grove helps us in both protecting the biotic integrity of this special place while allowing the public to enjoy it.

The tasks for April’s workday include removing invasive species from the Grove’s grasslands and watering recent fern transplants, with several smaller projects as time allows. Which tasks we tackle will be determined by weather, and this posting will be updated closer to the day of the event.
