Join LandPaths and the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District as we enjoy Saddle Mountain Open Space Preserve through the interpretive lens of fire ecology. While Saddle Mountain didn’t burn in the Tubbs fire, there will be views of the burned area, and we’ll have an opportunity to discuss fire’s ecological role in a variety of native habitats. We’ll view areas that could benefit from fuels treatments such as mechanical thinning or prescribed burning to reduce wildfire risk and support the health of native ecosystems. This will be a three-mile, round-trip, moderate hike with some elevation gain.

Level of Difficulty: Moderate
