Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District

Roche Ranch

The District holds a conservation easement over this beautiful rolling property south of Tolay Lake Regional Park. It participated financially in a partnership that was led by the Sonoma Land Trust to protect this significant ranch that will eventually connect the Regional Park, via a future trail, to over 20,000 acres that have been protected in the San Pablo Baylands. It’s an important contribution to water protection as well, since the combined Roche and Tolay properties encompass over 50% of the of the Tolay Creek watershed. The Trust assumed ownership of the property but will work with Sonoma County’s Regional Parks Department to eventually add the property to the Tolay Park, doubling its size.
