The 340-acre Cresta Ranch is a critical purchase in the protection of water and wildlife. It protects critical fish habitat in Mark West and Porter Creeks and an important scenic corridor.
Together with other protected lands in the area, this purchase provides a continuous wildlife habitat connection in the Mark West Creek watershed. Open meadows and oak covered hills are seen on the forty acres north of the Porter Creek Road.
In the 300 southern acres lies a striking 30-acre meadow, which provides a scenic vista from the road. Second growth redwood groves exist on the upper portion of the slope that reaches an elevation of 1,280 feet and provides spectacular views of Mt. St. Helena to the north and the Mark West Creek watershed below.
Future public access is in discussion with Sonoma County Regional Parks.
