Board of Directors

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors oversees the District and serves as its Board of Directors.

The Board of Supervisors meets in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at 575 Administration Drive, Room 100A, Santa Rosa, California. Any member of the audience may address the Board on a matter on the agenda, within time limits at the discretion of the Chair or the Board. Copies of the agenda are available at the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors (Room 100A), and at Public Libraries, Chambers of Commerce, and City Halls throughout the County.

Open Space Authority

The Board appoints members to the independent five-member Open Space Authority to oversee sales tax expenditures. The key responsibility of the Open Space Authority is to finance the acquisition of interests in agricultural and open space lands.

The Open Space Authority typically meets at the District office building 1-2 times a month on a Thursday at 5:00 pm. Please contact the District for specific meeting dates and agendas. The public is encouraged to attend meetings. Click here for directions.

Citizens’ Advisory Committee

The 17 members of the Citizens’ Advisory Committee represent Supervisorial Districts, various interest groups and incorporated cities within Sonoma County. Committee members are appointed by the Board of Directors. The Committee advises the District Board and staff on policy matters and making recommendations for proposed easement or land acquisitions. Subcommittees such as Acquisition and Stewardship may be formed for specific issues related to the District's program.

The Citizens’ Advisory Committee generally meets at the District office building at 5:30 pm on the fourth Thursday of every month. The public is encouraged to attend meetings. Click here for directions. Please check the calendar for specific dates and agendas.
