Situated between Highway 101 and the Petaluma River in southern Sonoma County, the site contains a wealth of agricultural, scenic and natural areas District-protected by an easement forever. The upland portion’s rolling grassland, oaks and fishponds are highly visible from Highway 101. Schultz Slough, a freshwater creek, crosses Petaluma Marsh and meanders the lowland part of the property to connect with the Petaluma River. The marsh is home to a variety of shorebirds and waterfowl.
