Marked by moderate to steep slopes that support oak woodland, open grassland and riparian areas, the property is part of the Sonoma Valley wildlife corridor, located on the northern and western slopes of Sonoma Mountain. Protected by a District easement, the property contributes to a beautifully natural vista across Sonoma Mountain visible from Bennett Valley and southeast Santa Rosa. The owner granted the property to Fairfield-Osborne Preserve and it is managed by Sonoma State University.
